Our process was created through partnerships with Domestic Violence/Intimate Partner Violence, Domestic Child Sex Trafficking and AIDS Service Organizations that refer survivors to DMI. Our Partners provide emergency services to ensure a level of stability. When they are ready to transition, they are referred to DMI for continued stability.

Our Advocates collaborate with survivors on a self-determined Empowerment Plan that spans 12 to 18 months and focuses on permanent housing solutions, financing and furthering education, and establishing a secure career path.

DMI’s innovative approach uses existing services to eliminate overlapping resources while empowering each survivor at the center of service to determine their own success and creating their own destiny, often for the first time.
WHO WE SERVE
A central goal of Diamond Ministries is addressing Domestic Child Sex Trafficking, Domestic Violence/Intimate Partner Violence and HIV/AIDS. We employ an intersectional approach to our work understanding the ripple effects of trauma, racial/socio/economic injustices, and power imbalances among people of color and marginalized populations.
Survivors traumatic events want more for themselves than the history of abuse from which they survived. They have goals, hopes, and dreams and we want to help them achieve those goals.

Those we serve are resilient, ambitious, and self-determined.
Having been stripped of their self-worth and dignity for years and sometimes decades along with combinations of intimidation and insurmountable obstacles: trapped in the minimum wage poverty spiral, facing housing barriers with bad credit or no credit, unable to afford vocational or education opportunities. Diamond Ministries Inc. assists with those tangible needs while curating confidence, igniting hope, and establishing focus. These skills were sometimes unattainable due to the social determinants of health and/or purposefully held back from survivors by their abuser exerting power and control.
The first step for most clients is to obtain safe housing, but. Survivors also need additional services to help them along the way including mental health counseling, addiction services, job training, life skills and access to education or legal services for continued stability.
